Peridot

An individual from the olivine family, peridot arrives in so many different shades of green. The signature lime-green peridot is a characteristic for the mineral itself, as opposed to that of a remote element. Peridot is one of the only gemstones that can be found in just single shading. The mohs scale rates this stone at 6.5-7 in terms of its hardness. It is believed by some that peridot improves the adequacy of any pharmaceutical. As indicated by others, peridot protects against bad dreams. An indigenous Hawaiian myth proposes that peridot is a tear of Pele, the Hawaiian fire and lava goddess. Most peridot is mined in Arizona; and various other sources being China, Burma, and Pakistan. Peridot is the August birthstone in the US.
